Industry 4.0 and Knowledge Society

The current century is already recognized as the century of Knowledge Society, where besides capital and labour, knowledge has become one of the primary means of production. Cognition, both human and artificial, is fundamental to knowledge society as it relies on the fact that only the human and artificial brains can process the huge amounts of information and data available from different sources and turn it into knowledge. The emergence and exponential growth of information and communication technologies thus creates the condition for a new social, political and economic system in a post-communist and post-capitalist society.

Industry 4.0

While the future looks bright for India's economy, fuelled by an entrepreneurial culture and youthful workforce, 'a super brain power', having the biggest young human capital, the knowledge society and the Industry 4.0 look for an accountable, responsible, transparent, inclusive, eco-friendly and sustainable era with liberal perspectives and values based on science, technology and humanities.
